Size is the decision that costs people money, and it goes wrong in one direction: ordering a step down to save thirty dollars, then discovering the sign can’t be read from where people actually stand. Measure the space, then work backwards from reading distance. Roughly an inch of letter height per ten feet, more if the reader is moving.
Never staple a banner through the middle of the material: the first gust tears it from the staple. Tie through the grommets, and if it’s hanging from a pole rather than tied, ask for pole pockets instead. Different construction, same principle: attach to the finishing, not to the print.
